In keeping with his usual selection of popular and spiritual, power ballads ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ and ‘The Prayer’ sound compelling and soaring whilst modern hymn classics, ‘In Christ Alone’ and ‘The Power Of The Cross’ and the new ‘Oceans’ are extraordinary and conquering. ‘Go Rest High’ features guest Russ Taff, a significant American gospel artist, the poignant title track ‘It Is Well’ flourishes within a sensitive musical environment and a bespoke arrangement of ‘Take My Life’ is inspiring. The genius inclusion of ‘Stars’ from ‘Les Misérables’ displays Veira’s love and proficiency for opera and ‘No More Night’, made famous by David Phelps, is suitably deep and dramatic.
