Speaking in tongues is an important discipline for many Christians, and has been highly significant within the renewal movements in different ways. But the questions surrounding the practice have not always been clearly thought through.
Starting with New Testament perspectives, this study looks at both the purpose and practice of speaking in tongues, how it testifies to the powerful presence of the kingdom but also anticipates what is to come, and concludes with some useful guidelines for its existence in the local church.
