As Christians disagree of politics and the role of Government, it becomes more pressing to explore a truly biblical understanding of what government is and what it does. This study draws particularly on the writing of Oliver O'Donovan and Nigel Biggar to explore the role of government as exercising judgment, discerning between right and wrong, defending the former and opposing the latter. It offers some sharp insights into current discussions and provides practical as well as theoretical challenges.
