In the four Gospels, Jesus Christ makes many demands, which are addressed both to his followers and to others. These demands show us who Jesus is and what he expects of us. They are not the harsh requirements of a taskmaster, however, but rather the command of the life-giver to come and have life. What Jesus demands from the world can be summed up as 'Trust and treasure me above all.'
