First published in 1965 as an article in the Journal of Religion under the title ‘A Christian Approach to the Question of Sexual Relations Outside of Marriage,’ this study offers a robust framework for thinking about sex and marriage. Although a demanding read, it has dated little, and still offers a striking apologia for Christian sexual morality, all the more relevant in our increasingly sexualized age.
