Don Maclean MBE, KSS, KCHS, presented Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2 for fifteen years. He composed prayers that he shared - direct simple speaking to God.
Reverend Ernie Rea, former head of Religious Broadcasting at the BBC, writes: ''Don's Prayers Convey profound truths in simple words. They come from his heart, and so they speak to our souls.''
In 2012 the Catholic Church recognised Don's witness to religious faith through his broadcasting and life in showbusiness, conferring on him the honour of becoming a Knight of St Sylvester, which Don humbly accepted. Family and friends shared his joy. A Papal Knight is entitled to ride his horse into St Peter's Basilica in Rome. Don's really looking forward to doing that!
