Today's churches are changing. They have revitalised their sense of mission and many 'fresh expressions' of church have emerged with the aim of making the church more effective in a consumer society that no longer connects with the Christian story. Yet the focus of much thinking and action has been urban. Here, wisdom and insight into the challenge and task of mission is drawn from the actual experiences of rural churches and critical reflection is offered on the issues aaffecting the church in the countryside today.
