The idea of ‘revival’ is a powerful, emotive one, the subject of both popular and academic reflection. But it has often sat uneasily with traditional understandings of mission. This study proposes a new understanding of ‘revivals’ as pulses of the life-giving Spirit of God, and explores how this understanding offers some radical new possibilities in understanding our role in God’s mission.
