The universal language of the performing arts - music, drama and the spoken word - is an effective formula for presenting the gospel to those beyond the fringe of the church. The Chrysalis Arts Trust aims to take the gospel message out of the church and into the familiar relaxed surroundings of the local football club or pub. Chtysalis maintains a relaxed cabaret feel where people can bring their non-church friends and family to hear the truth of the gospel in a relevant, non-threatening and entertaining way. The book contains all the background information you need when considering an event: from grounding the vision in prayer and study to choosing the venue, speakers and programme, and organizing the technical background. There are nine complete thematic programmes. Each includes: Bible passages and study guides which ground the theme; programme outline; drama sketches; songs; poetry; outline of the talk with bulleted summary, quotes and illustrations; section on resources specific to the theme. Themes are - love, power, suffering, money, Christianity, sex, the Bible, freedom, christmas and a one-hour light-hearted pantomime about Cinderella.
