This work explores the importance of Jerusalem as the Holy City through the eyes of singer/songwriter Adrian Snell. The book begins the consideration of Jerusalem with the foundation of the Judaic culture and faith and the establishment of the Covenant. It considers what went wrong between God and His people, and looks at the rise of the idea of the Atonement. Throughout the book, "Jerusalem" is seen as the symbol of God's dealing with his people. The book then examines the exile to Babylon, itself a foreshadowing of the greater exile in the Christian era. The author explores in some depth the events of the Holocaust, the return to the Holy Land in 1948, and God's plans for the future. Each section ends with a poem from the accompanying album distributed by Alliance.
