Henry the Caterpillar is based on the lifecycle of the Cinnabar moth, a native to our British wildlife. The caterpillars feed on Ragwort, a yellow flower which grows later in the summer on rough bits of land. It is mildly poisonous to humans so LOOK but DON'T TOUCH! As with all caterpillars the same is true of them, so we would advise against touching these incredible little creatures.
