There are strong resonances between sculpture and the biblical image of God as creator and as potter. And sculpture can provoke responses in us which can make us look afresh at Scripture and can help us to 'sculpt' afresh our prayer.
This study introduces the issues, explores how sculpture can help our prayer and reading, and then offers for reflection a series of 15 sculptures that have been used on quiet days.
As with other approaches that move from experience to Scripture, rather than the other way round, the process can be challenging and even unsettling - but also immensely fruitful.
