Philip Quenby has produced a most unique and timely book of English historical episodes and characters from a Christian perspective. Whilst he is at pains to point out that this is not a normal history book, it does present a fascinating perspective of God’s intervention in the affairs of a great nation - England. Today our country is being transformed through processes such as immigration, integration of technology and economic development. Perhaps more than ever before there is a need for this generation to find its moral and cultural bearings, in order to navigate towards social wisdom and stability. England has a history of which it can be proud. The author’s prayer is that the understanding of what God has done for us, with us and through us in the past will spur us on once again to seek the face of God for this nation.
