What is it that compels a group of people to follow the leadership and vision of one person? Why are the insights and pursuits of certain individuals more persuasive than those of others?
In this book, Jerry Wragg investigates how leadership should be characterized in the church, and how biblical leadership must differ from the kind of leadership promoted in the world. He explores the dynamics of leadership, particularly the character traits that need to be built up or eradicated in leaders, the dangers that leaders face and temptations to which they are particularly prone, and the development of future leaders: how to recognize leadership potential and encourage leadership gifts in the next generation. Throughout, Jerry Wragg writes honestly and offers pastoral encouragement and practical guidance that will help all men placed in church leadership positions.
The Author
Jerry Wragg was born and raised in California, and was exposed to Christian training through his parents’ example and his own involvement in church. He didn’t come to faith in Christ, however, until after he was married and serving in the United State Air Force. After his discharge from the service, he graduated from The Masters Seminary and served as an associate pastor and personal assistant to Dr. John MacArthur at Grace Community Church in California. In 2001, he accepted the call as pastor-teacher at Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter, Florida, where he continues to minister at present. Over the years he has taught on church leadership, biblical counseling, theology and Bible survey courses, marriage and family, and parenting. In addition, Jerry serves as Board Chairman for The Expositors Seminary, Jupiter, Florida. He and his wife, Louise, have four grown children: two married daughters, Jessica and Briana, and two sons, Jordan and Aaron. They also are the proud grandparents of three grandsons and one granddaughter.
